A Proven Leader
I am proud
to announce that I am running for Saint Paul City Council
in the Fourth Ward. I have spent the last twenty years working
in the labor, political and non-profit sectors to build a
just, economically-sound and sustainable community. I love
Saint Paul and our neighborhoods and I am dedicated to building
a community that respects and honors everyone.
I am a
labor activist and my work has given me an up close and personal
opportunity to see the difference that quality employment
makes in peoples’ lives. I will work to retain and attract
family-supporting jobs. I believe that there are real prospects
for economic growth in the manufacturing of “green”
or environmental products. I will work to secure employment
opportunities for youth and young adults in our community.
I am excited
about the future of Saint Paul and I am committed to building
on its strengths. The proposed Light Rail Transit on University
Avenue presents an unprecedented opportunity for redevelopment
in our community. My vision is one of mixed-use sustainable
development with a variety of locally-owned businesses; green
spaces with gathering places; fewer automobiles allowing for
more pedestrians and bicycles; mixed housing and economic
opportunities for all.
I intend
to work hard to earn your support and pledge to represent
all aspects of our community.
